
EWC provides staff training for independent wine shops, wine and liquor store chains, Big Box retailers and Grocery Store operations. The training is comprehensive and focuses upon foundational wine knowledge, wine service as well as wine and food theory. We will instruct your staff in fundamental wine knowledge (wine theory) as well as conversational sales and a philosophy of customer service interaction. Knowing wine is not just knowing what you like nor is it knowing stuff about wine that impress your small social circle. Truly knowing wine is what we will teach you.
The courses and certifications provided through Elite Wine Academy include Level I and Level II Foundational concepts in wine that also includes fundamentals of wine service and etiquette. These courses will give your staff all of the knowledge they will need in dealing with the vast majority of your clientele. Both courses come with a Certification Exam and frameable certificate upon a successful pass of the exam. The exam includes multiple format theory questions, short answer essays to test depth and cohesiveness of knowledge, and a practical wine service exam.
Advance Certification courses are available to those who pass both the Level I and Level II exams, which is a non-negotiable pre-requisite for the advanced certification course and exam. The sessions include wine tastings as allowed by local State and County regulations for On-Premise licensees. All sessions must occur during hours in which the licensed premise is closed to the public and in accordance with any State, County, City or Municipality regulations concerning off-premise consumption of alcoholic beverages.
